Our Pilates Teachers
All our teachers are Pilates Foundation teachers who have had rigorous and thorough training. We are all committed to the highest Professional Standards and code of ethics. All teachers continue to follow dedicated professional development courses.
I also supervise teachers in training to support their learning.
SARA DENNIS
I set up my first fitness training business when I was 21 years old. After two years this had grown into a very successful program in North Yorkshire, which I took to Germany. I was fortunate to teach in many German towns, developing individualised and group fitness classes and training tailored specifically to clients’ needs. Back in the UK I added to my qualifications as a Personal Trainer and Sports Therapist and settled in Salisbury. Following managing a private fitness club, I trained with my clients exclusively. After two children I discovered Pilates. I felt and still feel I had found a system that understands both the physical and emotional needs when training for fitness or recovery.
Proud to be a Pilates Foundation teacher I hold the highly regarded teacher qualification from the Pilates foundation. After six years of rigorous training, I am enabled to instruct Mat Pilates and Machines Pilates. I have also enjoyed helping to run the organisation as a director from 2014-2017.
CATHERINE CORNELIUS REID
Catherine has held a lifelong interest in health and fitness and was a County Badminton Player from the age of 12. During a career break to have her 2 children Catherine was introduced to Pilates in Salisbury through her parents. Appreciating the positive benefits Pilates had to offer to both body and mind Catherine enrolled on the Pilates Foundation course with Suzanne Scott qualifying in 2010. More recently Catherine has enrolled on the Apparatus training course at Bodywise to further develop her Pilates teaching. This is a very advanced course and will take several years to complete.
SARAH BERGIN
Sarah has spent many years working in the care sector with older and less able people. A back injury sustained at work provoked a move into supporting young adults with challenging behavior. Having struggled with recurring back issues throughout this period, Sarah tried Pilates and soon realised not only was it an effective way to overcome her back problems but also great fun! In 2016 Sarah embarked on her Pilates Foundation Matwork teacher training at Bodywise Salisbury.
After qualifying in 2017 Sarah worked at Roundhill Pilates and Physiotherapy Centre in Fordingbridge and Bodywise 2018, during this time Sarah became very interested in the work of Ruthy Alon and qualified as a Movement Intelligence Practitioner in 2019. She is continuing her training and currently is working with Art Of Motion on their Slings Myofascial Training.
Sarah aims to make each lesson informative and fun! She hopes to help clients deepen their own sense of mind-body connection and to let go of the stresses of modern life, with the aim that a little of each session travels on with the client in their daily lives.
